Anthony
Martial has been making the headlines recently, news which speculates him to a move
away from Manchester United.
So in the
last week or 10 days, it was rumoured that Inter Milan want Martial to be
included in the possible Ivan Perisic deal, either as a permanent transfer or a
season long loan(which is completely daft to do).
Yesterday,
news broke that Manchester United are in for Italian midfield sensation Marco
Verratti from PSG, which includes Martial + 60 million pounds.
Just because
Verratti has appointed Mino Raiola, doesn’t mean he’s guaranteed to a move to Manchester United. Here. I am not ruling out a transfer, but I am being realistic. Think he dreams a move to Barcelona, which is exactly why he appointed Raiola.
Coming to
the Martial + 60 million = Verratti deal, I think its complete nonsense &
lazy journalism.
Reasons why:
1)
Player/Players
+ cash = Player, deals don’t happen. Even if it does happen in the future, it
will still be recorded as 2 different transactions in the books of the
accounts.
2)
PSG
won’t sell him (at least this season). They plan to make a squad around him
(which is sensible).
3)
As
mentioned before, think his move to Barcelona is the inevitable.
4)
Jose
won’t sell him. He clearly knows, Martial is got the potential to be a great.
5)
I’d
personally love Verratti at Manchester United, but I don’t think it addresses
our need of a proper powerhouse in a CDM, and don’t really think Jose would
prefer him there.
6)
Verratti
is a great player, but he doesn’t possess that physical and height attribute,
which Jose loves and prefers.
After the
rumour of Martial + 60 million = Verratti broke out, some of the fans didn’t mind
the idea, some questioned his consistency and some called him a ‘One Season’
wonder.
I 100% agree,
he cannot survive on the ‘potential’ tag forever and needs to convert potential
into performance, but there are certain things to keep in mind:
1)
He’s
only 21, not 31. Very young.
2)
He
suited more to LVG’s system, scoring 17 goals in all competitions
3)
He
definitely needs time under. Think Jose will get the best out of him.
4)
Some
of the fans just cannot have faith & patience with him and want him sold.
5)
These
are the same lot, who wanted Manchester United to sign Kylian Mbappe, who’s
only a teenager.
6)
Not
to forget, he’s had to face too much nonsense from his relationship life. That’s
the reason of him performing poor in his 2nd season.
That’s too
much to take for a 21 year old. These kinds of situations are tough for any
person, especially when you’re well known globally and a Manchester United
player who was written off, even before he kicked a ball in a Manchester United
shirt.
